25 years in XR (eXtended Reality). John Holder runs “Realities Centre” UK’s leading XR and spatial computing centre, enabling the augmented, 360, mixed and virtual reality ecosystem (XR). He work with corporations, creatives and startups through events, training, workspace, incubation, consulting and development. He hosts XR events including HTC Vive x launch and Raindance XR festival.
In 1995 he built the 1st ever multi-user VR Art gallery and developed an important component of modern XR, server side implementation of persistent virtual objects.
Fast forward to 2020 he hosted the 1st International Virtual Art Tournament (featuring Tiltbrush) and XR Art fest in London. In 2019 he brought MagicLeap to London hosting their 1st Developer program outside the US. 2018 another 1st for Europe, he co-built a full 5G network and xR wireless lab, running a week long event for top European xR agencies. 2017/16/15 screened stereoscopic 360 VR at Cannes, Sundance and Berlinale festivals. Other notable accomplishments worth mentioning, in 2000 he built the 1st VR shopping mall with examinable 3D items and a payment gateway. In 1999 he built and hosted the 1st ever VR hybrid conference inside VR. In 1998 he built an AI controlled virtual human avatar to guide and educate in a bespoke multi-user VR campus.
